Canada River Levels (canadariverlevels.com) collects as little data as possible. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking cookies.

Your location

Only if you press "Use my location" and allow it in your browser, your coordinates are sent to our server to find nearby gauges. They are used for that search and immediately discarded, never stored or logged.

Preferences in your browser

If you switch between light and dark mode, the choice is saved only in your browser. Details in the cookie policy.

Server logs

Like any website, our server and Cloudflare may log technical data about visits (IP address, date, page and browser) for security and operation. Our logs are kept for up to 30 days and are not used to identify or profile you.

Service providers

• Hetzner Online GmbH (Germany): hosting.
• Cloudflare, Inc.: DNS, content delivery and protection against attacks (see the cookie policy for its security cookies).
• cdnjs and OpenStreetMap: your browser loads the map library and map images from them, so they receive your IP address.

Your rights

You can ask about any data we may hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by writing to [email protected]. If you are in the EU, you can also complain to your data protection authority.

Changes

If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and its date.
